Electromagnetic Coating Thickness Gauge

The electromagnetic coating thickness gauge generates an alternating magnetic field through its probe and calculates the thickness by measuring the change in magnetic resistance caused by conductive coatings, such as nickel layers, on non-magnetic substrates. It is used for on-site rapid detection of metal coating thickness in processes like electroplating and spraying, and is suitable for quality monitoring in industries such as automotive and electronics.
Selection
When selecting, consider the shape of the substrate to match the probe type: use a single-point probe for flat surfaces and a specialized probe for curved surfaces. Confirm the measurement range based on the coating material, opting for a 0–200 μm model for thin coatings. Check the instrument's calibration certificate and temperature adaptability; a waterproof model is required for humid environments. Verify that the standard test pieces include common thickness values.
