Ink cuvette

An ink cuvette is a transparent container used to hold ink samples. When light passes through the sample, part of it is absorbed, and the transmitted light is received by a detector. By comparing the difference between the transmitted light and a reference light, the color concentration and hue of the ink are determined. It is applied in the ink quality control and color matching processes in printing workshops and laboratories.
Selection
When selecting an ink cuvette, consider the light transmittance of the material; optical glass is suitable for precise measurements. Ensure compatibility with the sample compartment dimensions of the spectrophotometer. Pay attention to the path length, with 10mm being standard for most ink testing. Inspect the cuvette for scratches, bubbles, and ensure the interfaces are smooth. Choose the opening size based on the viscosity of the ink to facilitate cleaning.
