Oxide layer coating thickness Gauge

The oxide coating thickness gauge measures the thickness of the oxide layer on the substrate surface using magnetic induction or eddy current principles. The magnetic induction method is used for steel substrates, where the magnetic resistance of the probe varies with the coating thickness. The eddy current method is used for non-ferrous metals, where the electromagnetic field of the probe differs due to the coating thickness. The instrument directly displays the thickness value and is used for quality inspection and process control.
Selection
When selecting, confirm the substrate type: use magnetic induction for iron-based substrates, eddy current for non-iron-based substrates, and choose a dual-function model for mixed substrates. Consider whether the thickness measurement range covers the sample scope. The probe size must match the shape of the test piece: use a pointed probe for curved surfaces and a flat probe for flat surfaces. Verify the calibration certificate and error values. Environmental requirements include avoiding strong electromagnetic fields.
