Overview
The TRUIT TR 1002/4 Ford viscosity cup is a viscosity measurement cup designed according to Ford standards to evaluate the viscosity characteristics of materials such as coatings, paints and coatings. It is precisely made of high-quality aluminum, has a capacity of 100ml, and has a 4.12mm small hole at the bottom. The viscosity is evaluated by measuring the time required for 100ml of liquid to flow out (20 to 105 seconds), and can be converted to a viscosity value (70 to 370cSt).
Features
1. The main material is high-quality aluminum alloy (anodic oxidation), and the nozzle material is high-quality stainless steel.
2. Capacity 100ml, top outer diameter φ 82mm, cup body outer diameter φ 56mm.
3. The diameter of the flow hole is 4.12mm, the outflow time is 20~ 105 seconds, and the viscosity range is 70~ 370cSt.
Principle
The Ford viscosity cup measures the time required for 100 ml of liquid to flow out of the cup through the small hole in the bottom to evaluate the material Tack. The flow time can be converted to a viscosity value using a specific formula.
Applications
Coatings, paints, coatings, automotive manufacturing and repair
Standards
ASTM D1200、ASTM D 333、ASTM D 365
Steps
1. Prepare Ford viscosity cup and liquid to be tested.
2. Pour 100ml of liquid into a cup.
3. Measure the time required for the liquid to completely flow out of the bottom 4.12mm hole (20 to 105 seconds).
4. Use the formula to convert the flow time to a viscosity value (70~ 370cSt).
Notice
• Ensure that the cup body is clean to avoid residues affecting the Measurement accuracy.
• Pay attention to the stability of liquid temperature when using to prevent viscosity changes.
The outflow time should be within the range of 20 to 105 seconds, and exceeding the range may affect the accuracy.
• Regularly check the nozzle and cup body for abrasion.
