Electrochemical performance test of lithium ion battery cathode materials—Test method for low temperature performance

This standard establishes a unified testing method for evaluating the low-temperature electrochemical performance of lithium-ion battery cathode materials, applicable to various cathode materials such as lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide, and lithium iron phosphate. The standard systematically defines core aspects, including test conditions, sample preparation, testing procedures, and result analysis in low-temperature environments ranging from -20°C to -40°C. By measuring parameters such as capacity retention and rate performance at low temperatures, it accurately assesses the operational capability and safety limits of materials in cold environments. In the testing process, the core equipment includes a low-temperature control chamber with a temperature range of -40°C to room temperature and fluctuations not exceeding ±1°C, used to simulate harsh low-temperature conditions. Additionally, a lithium-ion battery electrochemical performance tester with voltage and current accuracy no less than 0.1% of the range is required to record real-time voltage and current changes during charge and discharge cycles. Furthermore, a vacuum oven is used for sample drying. These precise testing methods provide essential technical support for ensuring the safety and reliability of batteries under low-temperature conditions.
