Haze Tester

A haze meter quantifies the haze value of materials by directing a light source onto transparent materials and measuring the ratio of scattered luminous flux deviating more than 2.5° from the incident direction to the total transmitted luminous flux. It is applied in quality control during the production of transparent materials such as plastic films and glass products.
Selection
When selecting a haze meter, ensure that the measurement standard complies with ASTM D1003 or ISO 14782, and the measurement range covers haze values from 0% to 100%. The integrating sphere size should match the sample holder for routine testing samples. Consider instruments with repeatability errors of less than 0.1%, equipped with calibration certificates and standard reference plates. Select a clamping device based on sample thickness, and ensure the user interface is intuitive and easy to operate.

Standard Test Method for Measuring Optical Haze of Transparent Coated Films Using a Haze Meter
This article introduces the standard method for measuring the optical haze of transparent coated films using a haze meter. First, the instrument must be calibrated according to the standard, and the sample needs to be conditioned in a constant temperature and humidity environment. The measurement involves four steps, including air zeroing, measuring total transmission and scattered light flux, and finally calculating the haze value.
Haze Transmittance Meter for Evaluating Optical Clarity of Contact Lenses
This article introduces how a haze transmittance meter is used to evaluate the optical clarity of visual correction products such as contact lenses. Haze refers to the blurriness caused by light scattering, while transmittance reflects the material's ability to transmit light. Together, these two factors determine clarity.
Haze and transmittance integrated machine measures the quality of functional films.
This article introduces how an integrated haze and transmittance meter measures the quality of functional films. Haze refers to the degree to which a material scatters light, while transmittance reflects its overall ability to transmit light.
Haze meter measures light transmission and scattering in agricultural film.
This article introduces how a haze meter measures the light transmittance and the proportion of scattered light in agricultural films. Haze is the percentage of scattered light in the total transmitted light, while light transmittance is the ratio of transmitted light to incident light.

Haze meter detects haze on high-gloss coating surfaces
Haze is the phenomenon where a high-gloss coating surface causes a blurring of reflected images due to light scattering, which reduces visual clarity. A haze meter quantifies the haze value by measuring the intensity ratio between the specularly reflected light and the scattered light at specific small angles. The lower the value, the clearer the surface.
