Paint Film Spreader

The film applicator uses a calibrated blade to evenly scrape across the substrate surface, forming a uniform wet film. It utilizes mechanical gaps to control the quantitative spreading of the coating, simulating the coating process in the laboratory to test the leveling, hiding power, and pigment dispersion of the coating.
Selection
Select the shape of the scraping groove based on the viscosity of the coating to be tested, with a trapezoidal groove chosen for high viscosity. Select the scraper width according to the testing standards, typically 100mm. Match the scraper gap range based on the expected film thickness, and verify the compatibility of the scraper material's wear resistance with the substrate hardness.

Application of Two-Step Method with Pre-Coating and Fine-Coating in Eliminating Bubble Defects for Dual-Blade Coater
The dual-blade coater employs a two-step method of pre-coating and precision coating to eliminate bubble defects during the coating process.
