Ford viscosity Cup No. 4

The Zahn cup measures viscosity by timing how long it takes for paint to flow out through a standard aperture at the bottom of the cup. It is used for rapid on-site testing of fluid flow performance in industries such as coatings and inks. During operation, the cup is filled with paint, and the time it takes to empty is recorded; the length of this time corresponds to the viscosity of the fluid.
Selection
Select the corresponding aperture size based on the viscosity range of the material to be tested. Consider the particle size of the material to avoid clogging. Compare the measurement conditions required by product standards. Maintain a constant environmental temperature as it affects viscosity. Clean and dry the cup body to prevent cross-contamination.
