FORD efflux Cup

The FORD efflux cup reflects viscosity by measuring the time it takes for the coating to flow out from a standard aperture at the bottom of the cup. It is used for on-site rapid assessment of coating fluidity and is suitable for quality control of Newtonian fluids such as paints and inks.
Selection
Select the aperture size based on the viscosity range of the material being measured; low viscosity requires a small aperture. Consider temperature stability, and opt for stainless steel cups for corrosion resistance. Verify industry standards for aperture and capacity specifications, and match with models that have typical measurement times between 30 and 100 seconds.
