Diaphragm Coater

The diaphragm Coater applies uniform pressure through an elastic diaphragm, forcing the coating material to extrude from a slit to form a wet film. It is used in laboratories to simulate the blade coating process, preparing coating samples with controllable thickness on substrates. It is suitable for quality testing and process validation in the ink and coating industries.
Selection
Select the scraper material based on the viscosity of the material to be tested: use steel for high viscosity and plastic for low viscosity. Determine the size of the Coater according to the width of the substrate, commonly 25-30 cm. Choose the specification based on the required coating thickness, typically ranging from 5 to 200 μm. After use, immediately clean the slit with the corresponding solvent.

Application of Two-Step Method with Pre-Coating and Fine-Coating in Eliminating Bubble Defects for Dual-Blade Coater
The dual-blade coater employs a two-step method of pre-coating and precision coating to eliminate bubble defects during the coating process. In the pre-coating stage, high shear force is applied to break the bubbles in the slurry, causing them to rupture and rise to the surface.
