FORD Viscosity Cup

The FORD viscosity cup determines viscosity by measuring the time it takes for the fluid to flow out through a small hole at the bottom of the cup. It is used for viscosity control of liquids such as coatings and inks, offering simple operation and suitability for on-site rapid testing.
Selection
When selecting a FORD viscosity cup, consider the fluid viscosity range to match the cup number; determine the aperture size according to standards such as ASTM D1200; ensure the material's corrosion resistance is suitable for the liquid being tested; and assess usage environment requirements for portability or fixed installation.

The difference between a wire bar coater and a gap-type wet film applicator.
The wire-wound drawdown bar directly quantifies the coating through the gap between wires, making it suitable for thin coating preparation with high precision, particularly for low-viscosity fluids. In contrast, the gap-type wet film applicator indirectly controls film thickness through the groove depth, with the actual coating thickness significantly influenced by material properties, making it more suitable for high-viscosity coatings and thick film preparation.
